ABOUT ME

I love bridge!

I have worked in the IT field for most of my life, doing everything but coding. I loved and still love doing project work.

I have been playing bridge for decades and have had some success. Grandmaster's limit is approaching and I will probably reach it in a couple of years. My best ranking in the SM Games is 5th place a few years ago in a doubles competition with Ari "RD" Kyllönen. Our team has fallen a few times in the Finnish Cup right before the semi-finals - once by one point.

And Luca loves players.

Willingness to learn new things and bring it out

Most people know me as a crazy enthusiast who always has a head full of new plans. I follow what is happening in the world and contact the person who brought the new idea / implementation. For this reason, I have received the rights from BBO and RealBridge to run competitions. I also act as LoveBridge's Finnish representative.

For a few days now (March 9-11, 2021) I have created a service for analyzing shares. With the help of John Goacher, the developer of Bridge Solver Online, I am creating a service for my own pages. In the newsit is already mentioned.

Bridge Standards Working Group

BSWG is an international community that creates bridge standards, and I was also invited to become a member. The purpose of the community was to create uniform standards for software developers, which will be used in the future. In this way, it is much easier to adapt different software and data into a functional entity. Now the standards have mostly been created. I was involved in two different working groups.

Live competitions

With the permission of the association, I have realized the Kajaani competitions played live on BBO in 2017, and the following year even two friends from LoveBridge came to organize the competition on their platform, bringing tablets and other props with them.

Education

I have designed the PeppiBridge product, which takes place as an online training, and you can read more about itwww.peppi.coolfrom the address.

I'm exploring the world and waiting for your suggestions to expand my services.

FROM MY TRAVELS

Open EC competitions 2015 in Tromsø

My good Norwegian friend (and little brother) Trond Bordsen invited me to play in the open EN championships in Tromsø. He organized a team and a couple for me in the doubles competition and accommodation at his home. I wrote a story about the trip in Bridgelehti 2015 issue 4.

In Poland

In Poland, the area around Gdansk has been visited several times. The ever-so-lovely Alison Nissen has organized the games, but there haven't been any in a few years. It's always been so fun and cheap there. Tuumikaa, when the hotel, meals and participation cost €100, and €70 for the flight. I got to be in good company for a week: There were many people from Kajaani and some from the capital region. The level was not very high, so sometimes there was success.

In Rhodes

The beautiful Greek archipelago is great for spending time between games. In 2013, my friend Tatu Heikkinen called to ask if I would be interested in the trip. Olli Puurtinen needed a pair. And we set off. Tatu played with Arto Puumalainen.  There were 116 pairs in the open class, and in a tough group, our ranking was reasonable 15th with a good 57% result.

The competition was won by Schwartz - Fisher with 67 percent. Apparently even then they were using their dishonest magic, because the first suspicions began the following year.  Article
